This is my seventh year at INCA.  I graduated from Northwestern college in St. Paul, Minnesota, and am married to Russell Yount.  We have an 80 pound 2 ½ year old golden retriever named Barnabus!

On Tuesday and Thursday  mornings I teach preschool.  Right now we are working with Jolly Phonics, learning our letters and sounds.  We also are learning to identify and write numbers, and use materials published by Houghton Mifflin.  We use lots of finger plays to keep the children moving!

In preschool we spend a lot of time working on social skills, and we enjoy a number of field trips.  A favorite is our trip to Knights Pumpkin Farm!

As a teacher, my guiding principles are “go with the flow” and “seize the day”!

Mrs. Sheryl Pilling

When my husband Paul and I enrolled our daughter in preschool at INCA 14 years ago, it was the beginning of our relationship with this special school! Our daughter, Karen, and our son, Nathan, were both blessed to graduate from INCA so I know the value of a quality Christian education as an educator AND as a parent!

I graduated from Northwestern College in Orange City, Iowa with a double major in Humanities and Library Science, and a Career Concentration in Elementary Education. I taught six years before becoming a full-time mom. When my son was in Kindergarten in 1997, I started working as a part-time assistant at INCA.

Two mornings a week I assist Mrs. Yount and our preschool class. You’ll see me work one on one with preschoolers on their letters, listen to students share important observations about their lives, tie shoestrings or zip zippers, read a story, prepare a snack, and generally help where ever needed! No day is ever the same with preschoolers!

I love my job . . . it is very satisfying to lend a hand in assisting parents in their task of raising their children in the Lord.
