This is my 16th year at Isaac Newton, and my 23rd year of teaching.  I live near Amana with my husband, Mark.  We have two grown children, Seth and Sadie.  I graduated from UNI.

We begin our day with writing, then bible, Phonics, Spelling, Math, Reading, Science History or Health.  It is a very full schedule! Our day always begins and ends with prayer, and includes many songs and “specials” such as Art, Computer, Music and Physical Education.

I want my students to enjoy learning and reading as much as I do!  I want my classroom to be a special place where they will feel loved and encouraged.  I want them to know that God loves them and has a special plan for their lives.

This is my 10th year at INCA.  I taught 3rd grade for five years, fourth grade for a year, and most recently, was the resource teacher for three years, and I’m presently teaching 2nd grade.  I received my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Mount Mercy College in Cedar Rapids.   My wife, Mindi and I have two children.  Morgan is a freshman at UNI, and Ethan a freshman at Kennedy High School.  Both kids attended INCA preschool through 8th grade.

We are using a new Bible curriculum which helps students formulate and articulate their Christian worldview.  Students are challenged to build their lives on The Rock.  We memorize Scripture and sing Bible couplets with a CD that helps students retain Biblical truths throughout the year.

I feel very blessed to have the opportunity to teach at INCA where we pray with students and can impact their lives for God’s Kingdom.  I cherish the many relationships I’ve developed at INCA, with students, parents and staff. x
