Mrs. Carol Brewer and Mrs. Karen Curry

The fourth grade features a dynamic mother/daughter combo!  Carol Brewer teaches the fourth graders in the morning, and her daughter Karen Curry takes over in the afternoon.  Their class is a fun place to be!

“I’ve been married for 35 years to my husband Bob, and we have a daughter, Karen (my co-teacher), and a son, Jim.  I began my teaching career in California, and have been at Isaac Newton for 18 years.”

Mrs. Brewer teachers the morning classes in Bible, math, science, spelling, handwriting and art.  Art is a favorite class, especially the art contest, and cartoon enlargement.

“I feel that my most important task is to guide the students to seek a growing relationship with Jesus Christ,” says Mrs. Brewer, “and to encourage them to bring glory to Him by performing academically to their highest potential.”

Mrs. Curry is back teaching after seven years at home with two children.  “I was so glad God opened a way for me to be here now that both my children are in school here, so I wasn’t sitting at home eating too many cookies!”

Mrs. Curry teaches language arts and history, and tries to infuse the history into the language arts as much as possible.  “Language is more interesting that way, and the history gets reinforced,” she explains.

“Learning is merely gaining knowledge and skills but it is less frustrating and more interesting when you find the right motivation and can use your natural learning style (visual, auditory, etc.).
