Time sensitive announcement! The Pension Protection Act of 2006 provides for charitable giving from IRA accounts for those over age 70 ½. The legislation is only in effect through 2007. This legislation provides an exclusion from gross income for otherwise taxable IRA distributions of up to $100,000 per year from traditional IRAs and Roth IRAs for “qualified charitable distributions” made during 2007. If you fit in this category and plan to make a gift to the school before December 31, 2007, ask your tax advisor regarding details on how you can contribute money from your IRA directly to Isaac Newton. This law provides a wonderful way to be a wise steward of your resources! Contact Kathryne Oates, 362-9512, for more information. |
We rely on the generous gifts from our family of donors to ensure the ongoing mission of the school. Did you know that tuition pays only about 75% of the total cost of educating a child at the Academy? The remaining 25%, which is about $1,000 per student (close to $250,000), has historically been raised through donations and fundraisers. We refer to this as “the gap”, and over the next several years the school will be implementing some programs that we hope will help in “closing the gap.”
Isaac Newton is in its 19th year of providing the opportunity for a Christian education for children in Cedar Rapids and the outlying communities. Over and over, God has proved faithful in providing the funds not only to keep us in operation, but also to allow us to grow, add new programs, and tackle ongoing capital improvements. He uses servants just like you, who have a passion for Christian education and for the impact this generation can have among its peers and in our community.
If you are a current donor, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts! If you are not part of our donor family, won’t you prayerfully consider joining this group of people who bless the school financially? There are opportunities to give to restricted funds (where your donation goes toward a specific project) as well as unrestricted (where your gift is applied to operating expenses, or to the area that the Board deems is “most needed”). Gifts of stock or property are fairly easy to facilitate and of course, the simplest way to give a gift to the school is to simply write a check and send it to us! You will receive a receipt at the end of the year for your tax deductible charitable contribution. Please take a few minutes to look through our other basic giving avenues.
