Music

Music is an amazing gift from God. At Isaac Newton we have many opportunities to give God glory through Choirs, Bands, and Drama in Musicals.

Our music teacher, Miss Christy Hungerford, graduated from Jefferson High School and Simpson College. While in high school, she participated in the school's award-winning Ovation and West Side Delegation Show Choirs, as well as Concert Choir and the select group, Meistersingers. She had the role of Mary in "The Secret Garden" musical and Sarah Brown in "Guys and Dolls." She also participated in the award winning marching band, The Band of Blue, and the select concert band, Wind Symphony.

In college she was classically trained in voice and had main roles in the operas "Albert Herring" (Miss Wordsworth) and "Dido and Aeneas" (Belinda). She toured Europe twice with the Madrigal Singers. Miss Hungerford has studied piano, brass, woodwind, guitar, and string methods classes.

Currently she sings on the worship team at New Covenant Bible Church, and plays in the bell choir. She has also helped with the church's Theatrical Camp.
